It feels like yesterday that we celebrated his fourth birthday and in the blink of an eye, he turned FIVE! We did a ‘Cocomelon – Wheels on the Bus’ theme this year as requested by the birthday boy and here’s how everything turned out.
I usually love doing the backdrop and decor by myself but there wasn’t enough time for me to plan this year since we didn’t finalize a venue till the very last minute. So we ended up having the party at home and hired a professional to do the backdrop, I was skeptical at first but she did a great job considering the very short notice. The backdrop was simply perfect and the Cocomelon school bus was definitely the cherry on top.
A huge thanks to my dear friend for baking the most delicious birthday cake ever. Just like every year, I ordered a plain iced cake and decorated it myself with fondant and some of Vedh’s toys. The cake looks pretty awesome, doesn’t it?
I also did make some very yummy Oreo pops in three different designs and they were a huge hit this year as well. For the Traffic signal Oreo pops, I used some melted chocolate to stick the M&M’s to the Oreos.
Check out the Emoji Oreo pops I made if you haven’t already, for a detailed step by step process on how to make Oreo pops. The only difference here is the fondant details (school bus, number 5) that I added. Also, here’s a sneak peek into Vedh’s Emoji birthday party we did last year.
